Our future is tied to what we've done in the past......
and that is to maintain our commtment to provide first rate seedlings that will thrive in the forest setting.
We are truly invested in seeing our seedlings become a forest for the future.
Looking back....Tamarac Nurseries, a family owned and operated greenhouse, tree seedling operation was established in 1982 responding to the Ontario MNR's request for private growers to bid on producing tree seedlings for the purpose of reforestation. Starting with just two free standing greenhouses the operation has continued to expand and grow over the past 37 years from a production capacity of 500,000 seedlings to 5,000,000.
Dryden, located in NW Ontario, is home for the owners, Dave and Celeste Lick. Over the years, Dave with a degree in Crop Scienc and Celeste in Horticulture from the University of Guelph have, along with great staff, worked side by side managing and growing the operation and tending the crops with great care. Their hands on growing techniques and quality assurance have provided clients with an excellent product and consistently great customer care.
Going forward....the need to be innovative and ready for change is on the forefront. Being mindful of the work force and the environment we are watching and looking for opportunities to grow the operation while producing seedlings with the most sustainable and environmentally concious practices.
